Company balance sheet - BASF publishes financial report for the first half

BASF, the world's largest chemistry company, releases its financial report for the first half of 2024 today. For the first time, new CEO Markus Kamieth presents the figures - together with CFO Dirk Elvermann. Kamieth took over the position at the annual shareholders' meeting at the end of April from Martin Brudermüller.

BASF confirmed its forecasts for 2024. The company aims for an Ebitda result, excluding interest, taxes, depreciation, and special items, of between 8.0 and 8.6 billion Euros (2023: 7.7 billion Euros). BASF did not provide a forecast for revenue and net income.

The board of the chemicals company recently announced another billion-dollar savings program and a further personnel reduction at the Ludwigshafen plant. For the largest BASF production site, "a new target image will be developed".

The newly appointed CEO of BASF, Markus Kamieth, hails from Rhineland-Palatinate, just like the company's headquarters in Ludwigshafen. The financial report of BASF, a German chemical corporation, reveals a projected Ebitda result of between 8.0 and 8.6 billion Euros for 2024, which is an increase from the previous year's 7.7 billion Euros. The quarterly figures from this Chemistry giant will impact the company's overall financial performance, as mentioned in today's financial report.
