Animals perish in fire - Barn with 15 cows inside is burning completely
More than a dozen calves have perished in a fire at a barn in Kreis Nordfriesland. The fire broke out in the night to Tuesday, according to a police spokesperson, of unknown causes. A milk truck driver discovered the fire and alerted the emergency services. However, help came too late for the 15 animals. The barn, a adjacent building, and a silo standing on the premises were completely burnt down. Damages are estimated to be at least half a million Euros. Four fire departments were involved in the firefighting efforts. There were no injuries reported.
The fire incident occurred in a barn located in the North Frisia District, specifically in Kreis Nordfriesland, which is part of Schleswig-Holstein. Despite the swift response from four fire departments, the level of damage was extensive, resulting in the loss of the barn, an adjacent building, and a silo.
