It could have run better for Gardena: The bad weather of the past few months is damaging Gardena's business. The turnover decreased to 789 million Euros in the first half of the year compared to the previous year, as the company in Ulm announced. In reporting currency, the Swedish Crown, the minus is four percent. Gardena has belonged to the Swedish Husqvarna Group since 2007 and has its four German locations in Baden-Württemberg.

The business remained stagnant especially in gardening products. "The cause was exceptionally strong and persistent rainfall in Central Europe and North America", Gardena wrote. However, the sales of battery-powered garden tools developed positively.

According to the German Weather Service, the last twelve months were the rainiest since weather recording began. Therefore, there have reportedly never been such rainy consecutive twelve months in Germany as in the period from July 2023 to June 2024.

Gardena is a leading supplier of garden tools. At the German locations in Ulm, Heuchlingen, Niederstotzingen and Laichingen, there were around 2260 employees at the end of 2023. Worldwide, the Gardena Division employs roughly 3450 people.
