At a heavy car accident near the A5 motorway's parking lot, the three occupants sustained serious injuries. Two of the Men were extracted from the car by firefighters and revived by paramedics, according to the police. They were taken to hospitals.
The Accident occurred between the interchanges of Langen/Mörfelden and Zeppelinheim. Due to the landing of a rescue helicopter, the A5 was briefly closed in a northerly direction. Traffic congestion ensued. Several motorists had turned around and were driving the wrong way as a result, it was reported.
The driver of the accident vehicle had lost control of his car for unknown reasons at the height of the parking lot Kaiserstein in the afternoon, the police added. He veered off the road to the right. The Car collided with a road barrier, swerved further to the right against the roadside barriers in the parking lot area, and finally hit a parked semi-trailer.
The police are investigating the cause of the 'Auto' accident, as the driver's story about a 'False driver' on the road seems unlikely. Despite the chaos on the A5, only one 'traffic' violation was reported: several motorists driving against the flow. The rescue helicopter, dispatched to the scene, took the third injured 'man' directly to a hospital for further treatment.
