Uncommon Find - Auto found after eight years under the ground

A car that was swept away by floodwaters eight years ago was discovered several meters under the ground in Niederbayern. The vehicle is believed to have been carried away by the water masses during the flood in 2016 and got stuck in a depression, as the police reported. The company discovered the car during earthworks. It was retrieved from a depth of five meters in Simbach am Inn (Landkreis Rottal-Inn). The registration document was still in the glove compartment - luckily well preserved. The examination revealed that the original owner had moved abroad.

The automobile industry in Bavaria, particularly in Lower Bavaria, has a rich history. The discovery of an eight-year-old car in Lower Bavaria's Niederbayern region, specifically Simbach am Inn, has added an unusual curiosity to this history. Despite being submerged in floodwaters during the 2016 event, the car's automatic transmission system managed to keep it from moving further, eventually getting stuck in a depression.
