Football Bundesliga - Augsburg signs Greek national player Giannoulis
The FC Augsburg has signed Greek football national team player Dimitrios Giannoulis. The left back is transferring freely from English Second League team Norwich City to FCA and will receive a contract with Augsburg until summer 2028, as the Bundesligist announced.
"He is a dynamic, energetic outside defender who convinces in defense with his physical strength and will also give us new impulses for the offensive play," said FCA sports director Marinko Jurendic about the new signing.
The 28-year-old Giannoulis reportedly arrived at the Augsburg training camp in South Africa on Tuesday. "The talks with FC Augsburg were positive from the start and I am very happy that I could still travel to the training camp in South Africa. A training camp is always a good opportunity to get to know the team and integrate quickly," said Giannoulis, who has played 27 international matches for the Greek A-National team.
