A construction worker is suspected of inflicting several serious cut and stab wounds on a 44-year-old man in Hattingen. "There was a risk to life," the police in Hagen and the prosecutor's office in Essen stated about the incident on Wednesday. The assailant had worked on a construction site near the victim's house, where the attempted murder is said to have occurred, according to a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office upon request.

The suspect had fled the scene. The same applied to other suspects. It was still unclear who the suspect was and how many people were allegedly involved. A murder commission took up investigations into the course of events and the motive and launched a manhunt.

The incident of criminality, involving severe cut and stab wounds, occurred in Hattingen, which prompted the local police in Hagen and the Prosecutor's Office in Essen to issue a statement. Despite the stitching injury requiring medical attention, the identity of the assailant remains elusive, as they, along with other potential suspects, managed to escape the scene. The Hagen police and the Essen Prosecutor's Office are collaborating diligently to apprehend the suspect and uncover the underlying motive.
