On autobahn injured - Assistant at motorway accident severely injured
A 42-year-old woman driver was involved in an accident on the A4 autobahn near Meerane (Zwickau district) and was injured while trying to help. She was taken to the hospital with serious leg injuries, according to the Zwickau police.
A truck trailer was driving off the ramp on Friday evening for an unknown reason and first collided with the guardrail and then with a large traffic sign. The woman had observed the accident in her rearview mirror. She stopped and wanted to help the truck trailer driver when another car drove into the damaged traffic sign and hit her.
The drivers of the truck trailer and the second car were unharmed. Due to the clearing and cleaning work, the highway towards Erfurt was closed for several hours. The total damage amounted to approximately 80,000 Euro.
