career leap - Amateur golfer Helen Briem switches to professionals

Golfer Helen Briem switches from being the best amateur to the professional scene and dreams of the Olympic Games 2028 in Los Angeles. "I'm incredibly excited about this new challenge and the many trips I'm now allowed to make to places I'll get to know", says Briem about her career move. The 18-year-old from Stuttgart GC Solitude is the first German golfer at the top of the Amateur World Ranking. She is considered a great golfing prospect for German golf.

Briem's goal is to "make a footprint on the big stage of world golf, one day to be part of the Solheim Cup team and represent Germany at the Olympic Games. I'm giving my all for that, maybe even in LA myself as part of Team Germany and fighting for a medal there", says the Nuremberg native.

Her amateur career was crowned with a title win at the Team European Championship just a week ago. "Helen is not only an exceptional golf player, she is also an excellent athlete", says national coach Stephan Morales. "I'm impressed that for her age she has such a great mental strength."

Briem's aspiration to represent Germany at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles aligns with her club's support, as Stuttgart GC Solitude plans to sponsor her journey, providing resources for her professional golf career and Olympic preparations in Los Angeles.

During her break from professional tournaments, Briem plans to visit her family in Nürtingen, Germany, to reconnect and gain strength before her next major tournament, such as the Olympic Games or a significant golf event like the GC Majors.

Following her career advancement, Briem considers participating in select European golf tours and potentially joining the German Women's National Golf Team, aiming to secure a spot in the Olympic Games, ensuring German golf's representation on a global stage, particularly in Nürtingen and Los Angeles.
