Accident in Rhein-Neckar-District - Accident involving several vehicles on A6

On Autobahn 6, between the interchange Wiesloch/Rauenberg and Walldorf Crossing (Rhein-Neckar-District), a multi-vehicle collision occurred. Two people sustained light injuries.

According to initial police reports, a truck driver failed to notice a stopped vehicle and attempted to change lanes, not seeing a Sprinter in front of him. The Sprinter was pushed against the barrier. The truck then collided with another truck, which in turn hit an autotransporter. The driver of the accident vehicle and one other person were lightly injured during the rescue efforts.

A kilometer-long traffic jam ensued. The police estimated the damage at 260,000 Euro. The roadway towards Mannheim was closed, traffic was diverted at the interchange Wiesloch/Rauenberg.
