Auto oversee - Accident during overtaking - two seriously injured
In a collision of three cars on federal highway 105, two people sustained serious injuries. A 64-year-old woman attempted to overtake another car driven by a 47-year-old woman in Karniner Wald (Landkreis Vorpommer-Ruegen) around Thursday afternoon, according to the police. She failed to notice another vehicle at the same level, resulting in the three cars being directly aligned on the road. The collision ensued. The car of the 47-year-old reportedly veered onto the opposing lane, then into a road ditch. It flipped multiple times and landed on its roof.
The 47-year-old woman and her 56-year-old passenger were severely injured and taken to the hospital, as per police reports. The 64-year-old woman, her 67-year-old passenger, and the 53-year-old driver of the third car remained unharmed. In the meantime, the road had to be completely closed. Traffic was rerouted.
