Traffic to the Wacken Open Air starting from July 31st is expected to flow smoothly on Autobahn 23 (Hamburg - Heide). Therefore, despite sanitation work between Tornesch and Pinneberg, the Heide-bound direction will be released for two-lane traffic for the journey from Thursday. From July 31st onwards, traffic can flow in both directions as two lanes. From August 5th, two lanes will be open in the direction of Hamburg, and one in the direction of Heide.
The Wacken Open Air festival, located in Schleswig-Holstein, is situated near the town of Pinneberg. Despite a construction site between Tornesch and Pinneberg in the Pinneberg District, the Autobahn 23 heading towards Heide will have two lanes open from July 31st, improving traffic flow to the event. During the festival, traffic on both Autobahn 23 directions will be two-laned until August 5th. After that, two lanes will be available for vehicles traveling towards Hamburg, while one lane will be maintained for those heading towards Heide and towards the Pinneberg area.
