An 85-year-old driver and his passenger were heavily injured and trapped in a collision with a truck in Unterwürschnitz (Vogtlandkreis), on their way to the Bundesstraße 92. According to the police, the man failed to give way to a 37-year-old truck driver while turning - resulting in the collision. The man and his 83-year-old passenger were rescued from their vehicle and severely injured by the Fire Department. The 37-year-old driver was only lightly injured. The Bundesstraße 92 was closed for four hours due to the accident.
After the accident in Unterwürschnitz, the incident was reported to the local police in Saxony. Due to multiple accidents on the same day, the traffic in the area became heavily congested. Following the collision, the Fire Department from Saxony was called to extricate the injured individuals from their vehicles.
