unfalle - A man drives to the right during an accident and gets seriously injured
A driver intending to render First Aid at an accident on Autobahn 8 in the Esslingen district, near Kirchheim under Teck, was himself severely injured. According to a police spokeswoman, the 35-year-old man had stopped his car on the emergency lane after the collision of two cars. However, before he could get out of the vehicle on Tuesday, another car, driven by a 27-year-old, reportedly skidded into his car, possibly due to aquaplaning. Both men sustained serious injuries. A helicopter from the rescue service was in operation.
The 50-year-old driver, whose car was initially hit, also suffered serious injuries. His passenger, whose age was unknown, was lightly injured. Both were taken to the hospital. The alleged perpetrator of the first accident had fled but was later apprehended and controlled, stated the police spokeswoman. The 56-year-old man was reported to have had a blood alcohol level of over 0.02% and was also said not to possess a driver's license. This had allegedly been taken away from him earlier. He remained unharmed.
In the same district of Esslingen, just near Churchheim under Teck, there have been several traffic accidents reported recently. The incident on Autobahn 8 was not an isolated case, highlighting the need for increased safety measures in the area. After the accident, an Automatic Emergency Call (AEC) system in the uninvolved driver's car alerted the authorities about the situation. Despite the ongoing efforts to promote First aid training in Baden-Württemberg, this incident underscores the importance of responsible driving and adhering to traffic rules to prevent such accidents.
