A tourist bus caught fire on the autobahn near Neuruppin on Sunday. At first, only the rear light burned, but in the end, the entire bus was on fire.

A Tour bus caught fire on Autobahn 24 near Neuruppin. A driver alerted the bus driver to a burning rear light on a Sunday morning, allowing the driver to stop at a rest stop in time and safely evacuate the bus's 35 passengers. The police reported this.

Firefighters, who had been alerted, extinguished the bus, which was now fully engulfed in flames, at the rest stop in Walsleben (Ostprignitz-Ruppin district). Trees and a section of guardrail also caught fire, according to reports.

The A24 was closed for approximately 1.5 hours in both directions. The road was then cleaned and the bus was towed away. The estimated damage is around 150,000 Euros.

The bus incident happened on a Sunday in Brandenburg's Neuruppin region. Due to the fire, the affected bus for travel was required to stop at the Walsleben rest stop on Autobahn 24. Despite the driver's swift response, nearby trees and a portion of the guardrail also ignited due to the spreading flames.
