Kiel - A driver rams into 11 parked vehicles - escape on foot
A driver in Kiel rammed into eleven cars parked on the side of the road and caused significant damage, the police reported. Neighbors heard a bang and saw the car collide with parked vehicles at the intersection of Gutenbergstraße/Knooper Weg in the night. In the process, the vehicle lost a tire and came to a stop at the intersection.
A total of eleven vehicles were damaged on a stretch of about 200 meters due to the 32-year-old driver, creating a debris trail on the road. The driver and two female passengers fled on foot after the accident. The officers were able to locate the suspect in the company of the two women and temporarily arrested him.
Given the suspicion that the driver was drunk and had taken drugs, a blood sample was required from him. Additionally, the car was seized for forensic examination. According to police reports, the driver was later released. He now faces a legal proceeding for reckless endangerment on the highway and violation of the compulsory insurance law. The extent of the damage incurred is currently unknown.
