At a serious accident on the Federal Highway 32, a 25-year-old man died. The driver crashed into the oncoming traffic lane, as the police reported, in a left curve near Herbertingen (District Sigmaringen). There, his car collided with an oncoming truck. The 25-year-old man died at the scene of the accident. The 37-year-old truck driver was slightly injured and taken to the hospital. The accident investigation is ongoing, the B32 is closed in both directions.
The accident on the Federal Highway 32 unfortunately led to the installation of an automatic traffic counter to monitor the impact on traffic flow. To prevent such incidents, authorities are considering introducing an automatic counterflow lane on this notoriously dangerous stretch of road in Baden-Württemberg. Despite these efforts, another accident occurred on the same Federal Highway recently, resulting in serious damage.
