around two percent - A cyclist stopped by the police twice
A drunk cyclist, aged 36, was stopped twice in one night in Wilkau-Haßlau, in the Zwickau district, by the Police. The first time was on Friday evening at around 10:15 pm, the police reported. The officers had noticed him due to his "suspicious riding style". An alcohol test gave a result of over 2.3 promille.
Early in the morning, the man was seen again on his bike. This time, the breath alcohol measurement was around 1.8 promille. The cyclist's bike was secured.
The police in Saxony also reported an increase in traffic-related criminality in Zwickau last month, which they attribute to the city's heavy traffic. Despite the warnings, some cyclists, under the influence, continue to pose danger on the roads, as evidenced by the repeated incident in Wilkau-Haßlau.
