A mopeds rider is approaching a curve facing a car with a trailer. On the trailer, there is a crane which seems not properly secured: An accident occurs.

Friedrichshafen - A crane operator hit a motorcycle rider severely

A motorbike rider was hit by a crane and severely injured in Friedrichshafen (Bodenseekreis). A car with a trailer, which had loaded the crane according to the police, came towards the 61-year-old motorbike rider in a curve. Preliminary investigations showed that the 49-year-old car driver had not properly secured his load. The crane swung into oncoming traffic and hit the motorbike rider. He lost control and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital. The police are investigating the further background.

The accident occurred in the Bodensee District, specifically in Friedrichshafen, which is part of Baden-Württemberg. The traffic in the area was disrupted due to the incident. In an effort to prevent such accidents, the local police in Baden-Württemberg have been advocating for the implementation of an automatic load securing system in all vehicles.
