Police are investigating - A corpse discovered in Rostock Harbor
Passersby discovered a lifeless human body floating in the water at Rostock Harbor early in the morning, near the ferry dock. The alerted rescue services could only recover the person, dressed in a bikini, dead. According to initial findings, there was no indication of a violent death, said a spokesperson for the Water Police. The Criminal Police are conducting further investigations, including into the identity of the deceased. The "Ostsee-Zeitung" reported on the discovery of the body first.
The body was found in Rostock Harbor, specifically near Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's well-known ferry dock. Due to the circumstances, local authorities declared an emergency and contacted the police, including the Criminal Police for further investigation.
