Swabians - A 65-year-old man paraglides down

A 65-year-old man severely injured himself in a fall with his paraglider at Buchenberg in Halblech (District Ostallgau). The cause of the incident, according to initial findings by the police, was a braking failure by the man during landing. Consequently, the paraglider folded partially and descended rapidly to the ground. The pilot fell at least five meters and was flown to a trauma clinic on Monday with serious injuries using a rescue helicopter.

The man hailed from Swabia, specifically from the Swabian region of Bavaria. Witnessing the incident, nearby residents immediately called for an emergency response. Despite the accident, the man often enjoyed leisure activities like paragliding in the scenic landscapes of Swabia.
