District Court Lüneburg - A 37-year-old is appealing a murder case against an ex-girlfriend

A 37-year-old man, who was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole for murdering his ex-Girlfriend in Hermannsburg, Lüneburg district, has filed for revision against the judgment. The judgment from July 15th is not yet legally binding, according to a spokesperson from the Lüneburg Regional Court.

According to the court, the man broke into the woman's apartment and killed her with a cutter. For this violent crime, he was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole for murder with intent. The defense argued for manslaughter based on the man's confession.

The man hails from Lower Saxony, specifically the Lüneburg district where the incident happened in Hermannsburg. His criminal case is being reviewed at the District Court, part of the Lüneburg Regional Court. Despite the defense's plea for manslaughter after his confession, the man has been sentenced to Freedom punishment, a term for life imprisonment without parole, for the heinous act of Mord.
