46-year-old threatened with axe by roommate
A 30-year-old man in Cuxhaven is said to have threatened his flatmate with an axe and smashed her bedroom door. The 46-year-old woman was unharmed in the incident on Thursday, as the police reported on Friday. She had called the police and reported that her roommate had then locked himself in his room with two companions. They were all very drunk.
On site, the woman and one companion were looked after by emergency services. Police officers surrounded the address and gained access to all rooms with a judicial search warrant. There they also confiscated the axe. However, the suspected attacker and his companions were no longer to be found in the apartment. According to the police, they are now being searched for as part of regular patrols. The investigation is ongoing.
The incident highlighted the need for the 46-year-old woman to have emergency contact information readily available. Despite the alcohol-induced situation, crimes like these underscore the importance of promptly reporting emergencies to the authorities.
