Weapons and weapon parts - 1.5 metric tons of munition - possible

After discovering large quantities of weapons and ammunition, a commercial weapons dealer from Baden-Württemberg, with suspected ties to the "Reichsbürger" scene, is in custody for investigation. According to police and prosecutors, there are violations of the Weapons Act, the War Weapons Control Act, and the Explosives Act. The search teams reportedly secured more than 1,000 weapons and parts, approximately 1.5 tons of ammunition, and prohibited "Boellers" during searches in Aldingen in the south of the federal state and in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis.

Military weapons such as automatic rifles should not be possessed by anyone except the Bundeswehr, according to a police spokesperson. Special permits are also required for explosives. In addition, weapons were reportedly discovered on the man even after the weapons authority had revoked his weapon permits due to earlier findings. The investigation is continuing, and the Rottweil District Court has reportedly executed the requested arrest warrant against the 56-year-old.

"Reichsbürger" are individuals who do not recognize the Federal Republic and its democratic structures. In Baden-Württemberg, the number of so-called Reichsbürger and self-governing people, according to the Constitutional Protection Agency, increased to around 4,000 in the previous year.

The police and the Public Prosecutor's Office are investigating the criminality of the weapons dealer, allegedly involving extremism and violations of various weapon-related acts. The seizure of munition and weapons, including prohibited "Boellers," from the suspect in Baden-Württemberg could be linked to this extremist group. Despite having his weapon permits revoked, the man was found in possession of military weapons, highlighting the complexity of combating such criminality.
