Lokale Verwaltungen - Panne bei der Wahl in Waiblingen: Stimmzettel nicht verteilt.

In Waiblingen, Rems-Murr-District, a significant number of residents faced problems with their ballot papers for the local elections. Many did not receive their ballots via mail as they usually do beforehand. Some did not receive any at all, while others only got them shortly before the voting day. The city announced this issue on a Sunday. However, there were no issues with voting itself. Over 30,000 out of the more than 41,000 eligible voters were affected by this error. The remaining individuals opted for postal voting.

On Saturday afternoon, city officials discovered the error. They had approximately 150 staff members from the administration and volunteers distribute as many ballots as possible. This led to queues at some polling stations due to the lack of ballots. The mayor of the city, Sebastian Wolf (CDU), expressed his deep regrets about the mistake.

Nationwide, more than 8.6 million eligible voters took part in the elections for municipal councils, district councils, and local councils. Voters in the Stuttgart region could potentially influence the composition of the regional assembly. Both women and men had the opportunity to vote for several candidates and multiple lists.

The State Center for Political Education provided information about the results of the municipal elections 2019 in Baden-Württemberg. Additionally, the Ministry of the Interior shared details about the municipal elections.
