Die majority of the co-accused made a single visit, while some returned up to six times. Forensic experts suggest that they were not driven by any notable psychological disorders; rather, they were driven by feelings of superiority and control.
Several of the co-accused claimed they believed they were participating in Gisele's and Dominique's erotic games. However, Dominique vehemently denies that his co-accused were unaware of Gisele's drug-induced unconsciousness. The lawyers emphasize, "Each one of them had the opportunity to leave the scene, but they chose not to."
A total of 72 suspects were identified on hundreds of videos found on Dominique's computer. Although all were identified, not all could be apprehended by the authorities. The events transpired between 2011 and 2020.
Offene Gerichtsverhandlungen
Gisele discovered her husband's infidelity some four years ago. He was caught videotaping women's skirts at a shopping mall. Gisele and Dominique had been living together for nearly 50 years before this unfortunate revelation. This discovery, however, only sparked Gisele's realization of her husband's sinister activities. Thus, she would undergo the traumatic experience of reliving the rapes, a decade later, according to her legal representation.
At the commencement of the trail, the judge dismissed a plea for private hearings. The lawyer, representing Gisele, insisted, "The trial should be fully public and run its course." The prosecution requested that the videos be kept private to spare the public from witnessing the graphic footage. However, Gisele preferred a public trial.
Gisele walked into court accompanied by her three children. Her lawyer attributed her desire to see her husband face to face and confront him with a "firm gaze." The trial is expected to conclude by December 20th. The accused face charges including sexual abuse of individuals under the influence of incapacitating substances. This unprecedented case might renew discussions in France about how to handle reported rape cases involving supposed "date-rape drugs."
The European Union has expressed concern over the handling of the case due to the large number of individuals involved and the alleged abuse of power. Gisele's legal team is considering appealing to the European Court of Human Rights, citing potential breaches of her rights to a fair trial and dignity.
