Zwickau loses 25:32 against runners-up Bensheim/Auerbach
The handball players of BSV Sachsen Zwickau were unable to collect any bonus points in their fight to stay in the league. Coach Norman Rentsch's charges lost 25:32 (12:14) at home to second-placed HSG Bensheim/Auerbach on Wednesday. Despite their sixth defeat of the season, the Zwickau side remain in the last non-relegation place for the time being. Lucie-Marie Kretzschmar (10), Lisa Friedberger (8/5) and Isabell Hurst (4) played the biggest part in the visitors' success. Ema Hrvatin (10/3), Diana Magnusdottir (6) and Nora Jakobsson van Stam (5) scored the most goals for Zwickau
The hosts remained on level terms with their favored opponents for a long time in this game. After 7:7 (13'), Bensheim pulled away to 11:7 (17'), but Zwickau was able to hope for a surprise until 20:21 (44'). With an 8:1 run to make it 29:21 (54'), the runners-up in the table decided the game.
Despite the close fight, BSV Sachsen Zwickau's women's handball team unfortunately ended up on the losing side in the Bundesliga, falling 25-32 to second-placed HSG Bensheim/Auerbach. Despite Lucie-Marie Kretzschmar's impressive 10-goal performance, Zwickau struggled to maintain their position in the match, eventually finishing with six defeats in the league.
