- Zwickau county: five vehicles involved in serious accident

In a multi-vehicle collision in the Zwickau district, a 60-year-old woman was severely injured. According to police, a total of five vehicles were involved in the accident on Wednesday afternoon in Hartenstein.

Initially, a 44-year-old woman stopped her car on the roadside because a child in the vehicle was complaining of nausea, as reported. A 64-year-old behind her managed to stop his vehicle in time, but a 69-year-old following him did not. She hit the back of the 64-year-old's car with her own.

A motorcyclist (60) behind the 69-year-old tried to swerve onto the opposite lane but clipped the 69-year-old's car and collided with an oncoming vehicle. The 60-year-old motorcyclist's passenger sustained severe injuries. No other injuries were reported, according to a police spokesperson.

Due to the chaos caused by the multi-vehicle collision, emergency services faced challenges in restoring normal traffic flow in the Transport and telecommunications sector. Investigations revealed that poor visibility and speeding could have contributed to the accident.
