Olympic tennis gold medalist Alexander Zverev is set to join the ATP Stuttgart tournament's main draw on Wednesday in the round of 16. The 27-year-old German, who is playing at the French Open against Carlos Alcaraz for his maiden Grand Slam win (3 p.m.), is given a bye in the opening round, just like the top four seeds - Ben Shelton (USA), Alexander Bublik (Kazakhstan), and Frances Tiafoe (USA). This news was released on Saturday. Zverev, seeded first, will face the victor of the American matchup between Christopher Eubanks and Brandon Nakashima in the second round.

The Stuttgart Weissenhof tournament's main competition begins on Monday. A potential German clash between Zverev and last year's runner-up Jan-Lennard Struff during the quarterfinals is possible. Struff needs to beat Italian challenger Flavio Cobolli in the initial stage to do so. On Monday, homecountry favorites Henry Squire and Yannick Hanfmann will face off in the opening round. The person who wins this encounter will square off against Tiafoe in the round of 16. Daniel Koepfer gets set to meet Zhizhen Zhang from China in the first stage.

The former Wimbledon champion and world no. 1, Andy Murray from Great Britain, will lock horns with American player Marcos Giron in his opening match. And for the double-time Stuttgart winner Matteo Berrettini from Italy, his first-round opponent is Russian Roman Safiullin.
