Car parts manufacturer reverted. - ZF guarantees jobs till mid-2028 with signed contract.
ZF, an automotive supplier, has vowed to safeguard the jobs of its workers at its Lake Constance facility until June 2028. As per an arrangement struck between the company and the ZF workers' council, layoffs prompted by organizational reasons are off-limits during this time frame. Approximately 4,900 employees from research, development, and the main office are anticipated to receive this benefit. The accord is already in motion.
"Job security until mid-2028 offers our colleagues peace of mind, which was crucial for us," commented the chairman of the Z-works council in Friedrichshafen, Franz-Josef Müller.
Terminations can still take place, though, due to retirements or shifts in personnel. "The option of not filling these spots remains" - with a minimum of 4,150 employees in these two sectors. Agreements with production staff were established in December, yet job security was not included. We plan to maintain open communication.
Employees of automotive suppliers fret over their employment due to the move towards electrical mobility. A sizable number of roles still hinge on the traditional combustion engine model.
