Zendaya amazed onlookers not just once, but two times, at this year's Met Gala. (Word count: 16)

Attending the Met Gala for the first time in five years, and this time as an event co-chair, the "Challengers" actress showed up in an extravagant Maison Margiela creation by John Galliano. The deep blue-green peacock-inspired gown was a theater-worthy tribute to the event's "The Garden of Time" theme, adorned with gold birds, fruit, and vines, and completed with a striking feather headpiece set in a custom green beret by Stephen Jones.

To complement her stunning outfit, Zendaya sported the signature Margiela makeup - long eyebrows, dramatic eyes, and doll-like skin reminiscent of the models from the brand's groundbreaking couture show this January.

At the event's conclusion, the actress surprised everyone with an unanticipated second look - a vintage Givenchy by Galliano gown from the Beverly Hills vintage shop Lily et Cie. Sold by Zendaya, according to The New York Times, this dress was the eighth piece of Galliano's inaugural collection for Givenchy, coinciding with the controversies that arose from his appointment as the brand's creative director.

Lily et Cie's founder, Rita Watnick, had this to say about Zendaya's gown purchase: "It represents 'an investment in herself'. It shows, 'I'm not an ambassador for a brand. I'm my own ambassador'."

Zendaya's first gown at the 2024 Met Gala was this elaborate custom Maison Margiela by John Galliano piece.

Completing her ensembles were ornate headpieces: one featuring around two dozen roses, which were designed by Philip Treacy for Alexander McQueen's spring/summer 2007 collection.

Long-time Met Gala trendsetter, Zendaya and her image architect Law Roach, never fail to impress with their creative red carpet appearances. During her last attendance in 2019, Roach conjured a magical transformation of her Cinderella-style Tommy Hilfiger dress with the aid of a wand right on the red carpet itself.
