Two women were injured by a firework body in Mainz. A speaker for the Mainz police stated that, apparently, a bottle rocket was thrown from a group of youths into the outdoor area of a local on Saturday. A 32-year-old woman sustained a head injury from the explosion and was taken to the hospital. A 30-year-old woman suffered minor burns on her upper body and was treated on site. Fortunately, among the approximately 100 guests and bystanders, no panic broke out, according to the statement. The police are now searching for the five youths and are investigating for reckless bodily harm.
The fireworks event in Mainz was attended by a large crowd, including numerous women. The incident involved firecrackers as well, not just fireworks.
