The Second League football team 1. FC Nürnberg has acquiredslovak goalkeeper Michal Kukucka. The 22-year-old's transfer to the club is free, as announced by AS Trenčin, a Slovakian First League team that placed twelfth in the previous season. Kukucka stands at 1.91 meters tall and fits in seamlessly with Nürnberg's other goalkeepers, Jan Reichert, Christian Mathenia, and Nicolas Ortegel, as per the coach Miroslav Klose. The length of the contract, however, was not disclosed in the announcement.

Sport director Olaf Rebbe had some praise for the new addition, stating, "Michal is a young and enthusiastic goalkeeper who has already played over 80 professional matches in the highest Slovakian league. He adds a perfect balance to our young goalkeeping team, with Christian Mathenia as a seasoned professional. He'll not only enhance his own growth, but also help drive that of his fellow keepers."
