A twenty-three-year-old is under suspicion for mercilessly assaulting an elderly man of seventy in Kerpen. Preliminary investigations suggest that he viciously struck the elderly individual in the skull at a train station early on a Friday morning, as stated by authorities. The seventy-year-old subsequently collapsed and remained unconscious. Emergency medical personnel tended to the gravely wounded man until he was transported to a hospital via ambulance.

The suspect was apprehended subsequently, as per the media. An eyewitness identified him in a nearby parking lot and notified the police. Police officials elaborated that he surrendered without putting up a fight. The twenty-three-year-old is being charged with inflicting severe bodily harm. Nevertheless, law enforcement is actively seeking additional witnesses to delve deeper into the situation.

The incident at the train station in Kerpen was classified as a severe crime by the authorities. Following his surrender, the suspect is now facing charges for committing a criminal act.
