A 24-year-old guy blazed a trail through the northern part of Darmstadt in his whip, causing a crash with a severely hurt 29-year-old: His vehicle smashed into the latter's, according to police reports. On a Monday afternoon, firefighters had to pry the 29-year-old out of his car and whisk him off to the hospital.
The 24-year-old was hauled away in handcuffs and hospitalized with injuries as well. A blood test was conducted to see if he was under the influence of booze or drugs. He's currently in police custody. The authorities haven't ruled out deliberate actions. The State Criminal Police Office has now taken up the investigation.
As per eyewitnesses, the 24-year-old was also off-roading and running red lights during his speed rampage. "Luckily, bystanders were quick on their feet and managed to escape harm's way," they stated. Police are urging more witnesses to step forward. The speedster's vehicle came to a stop in front of an empty storefront.
The 24-year-old was driving his car during the incident. After the collision, both the 24-year-old and the 29-year-old were taken to the hospital in their respective cars.
