Wrong-way driver hears warning about herself
Early Monday morning, police stopped a woman driving the wrong way on the 61 freeway between Bad Kreuznach and the Nahetal junction. The 74-year-old woman stated that she had noticed her wrong-way driving through a warning radio message and had therefore driven carefully, the police said.
The vehicle had been reported by witnesses, they added. According to the report, the 74-year-old woman was in her car on the carriageway in the direction of Ludwigshafen, but was driving in the direction of Koblenz. The police closed the highway and stopped the woman. Because there was no accident, according to the police, it could possibly just be an administrative offense. This and why the woman drove onto the highway the wrong way are being investigated. The 74-year-old woman was prohibited from continuing her journey.
Despite the traffic violation, the woman handled the situation cautiously due to the warning she received about her wrong-way driving. In emergency situations like these, it's crucial for motorists to follow traffic rules and seek assistance if needed.
