Hamburg - World's longest trombone concert to be played until Sunday

With the longest trombone concert in the world, the organizers want to get people in the mood for the German Protestant Trombone Day in Hamburg 2024 from Saturday. The 24-hour concert opened in the morning. A total of 24 brass groups are to gather one after the other until Sunday morning and play a continuous concert. Each brass choir will play for 30 minutes, then pause for half an hour and play a second 30-minute set. The musical marathon ends on Sunday at 11.00 a.m. in the church service for the 1st Advent with lead pastor Astrid Kleist.

"The wind choirs have a lot of staying power, that's what sets us apart," said Daniel Rau, regional trombone director of the North Church and managing director of the Posaunentag. "With this concert, we would like to prepare the people of Hamburg for the German Protestant Trombone Day, which will be held in Hamburg next year from May 3-5."
