A World War II grenade has been detonated in Bremen. It was discovered during construction work in the morning, as the police reported. The artillery grenade, packed with ten kilograms of explosives, was found during exploratory work in the Park Links der Weser neighborhood of Kirchhuchting.

An area with a radius of 140 meters around the discovery site in the park was evacuated for the detonation. Residents were not affected by the evacuation, as confirmed by a police spokesperson. No unusual incidents occurred during the operation, it was further reported.

The detonation of the World War II grenade in Bremen serves as a stark reminder of the past conflicts, specifically World War II and the Second World War. Despite the discovery of such artifacts being relatively common during construction in older cities, the potential danger they pose cannot be underestimated.
