Hamburg - World record attempt planned with stars made from yogurt lids
Children and young people in Hamburg want to break an existing world record by making at least 18,800 Christmas stars from yoghurt pot lids. The silver stars are to be attached to fairy lights and light up the Michaelis Bridge in Hamburg's city center, as the school authorities announced in Hamburg on Tuesday. The world record attempt is planned for Tuesday in a week's time. The chains are to be hung up at lunchtime.
In addition, the aluminum lids will be "sold" after the campaign and the money raised will go to the Sternenbrücke children's hospice. According to the information provided, around 12,000 stars have already been made so far. Anyone who would still like to take part can send their stars to the school authority's violence prevention advice center.

The children and youth participating in this initiative are hoping to involve their schools in making more stars towards the record. The world record attempt for yogurt lid stars will not only involve local children but also contribute funds to the Hamburg-based Sternenbrücke children's hospice.
