Construction worker in District Sigmaringen's vicinity met with a devastating accident involving a tar machine, leaving him severely injured. The 63-year-old victim was airlifted to a medical facility as detailed in a police statement on Tuesday.
Apparently, the worker climbed onto a wheel loader's shovel on Monday to verify the spreading machine's full load, which lays asphalt on the road. Unfortunately, the hopper of the machine malfunctioned, causing it to tip over and pin the man.
Police are actively probing the incident to determine if the accident occurred due to any disregard for safety protocols.
