Worker severely injured: Personnel basket falls from crane
A worker has been seriously injured in a work accident in Bönnigheim (Ludwigsburg district). A man basket on a crane fell onto two men who had previously fallen from a ladder, as the police reported on Tuesday. The two workers wanted to remove the basket, which weighed around 40 kilograms. According to the police, one of the two men probably also loosened the safety catch on the ladder while releasing the basket, causing it to tip over. The basket also crashed and fell onto the two workers.
A rescue helicopter took the seriously injured 26-year-old to hospital. His 48-year-old colleague and another worker were slightly injured. The police are investigating for negligent bodily injury.
In light of the incidents, it's essential to prioritize safety measures to prevent future accidents and emergencies. Unfortunately, negligent actions like loosening the safety catch on a ladder can lead to serious accidents, such as the one where the personnel basket fell, resulting in injuries.
