Fires - Wooden house on fire - 65-year-old woman critically injured
A 65-year-old resident suffered life-threatening burn injuries in a fire at a weekend house in a vacation area in Winsen/Aller in the district of Celle. Firefighters found the woman and an 81-year-old man in flames in front of the wooden house on Sunday night. The senior citizen who also lives there was also taken to hospital with injuries, but has already been able to leave the clinic, as the police reported on Monday.
The woman was transferred to a specialist clinic in Schleswig-Holstein and her condition is said to remain critical. The fire destroyed the house and the damage is estimated at 100,000 euros. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, it was reported.
