Women's bodies recovered from hotel ruins in Kröv

Two people were killed in the collapse of a hotel on the Moselle River. The bodies were under the rubble for several hours; one has now been recovered.

Misfortune on the Mosel - Women's bodies recovered from hotel ruins in Kröv

The first of two fatalities from the hotel collapse in Kroev on the Mosel has been recovered. It was a woman, as a police spokesperson confirmed. Apart from the woman, who was born in 1961 according to the incident commander, a man also lost his life. He is still trapped in the rubble, and it is currently believed that he cannot be recovered by Wednesday. There is also one more survivor trapped in the rubble, according to police. Rescue efforts for this woman are underway, with heavy machinery from a specialist firm having arrived. Drilling is being carried out to get closer to her, and there is "voice contact" established with her.

The woman who perished was a German national, as mentioned by the incident commander. The hotel collapse in Kroev has also claimed the life of a man from Germany, who remains trapped.
