Law enforcement action - Woman's Body Discovered, Suspect Apprehended
Police stumbled upon a 63-year-old woman's dead body in an apartment in Neustrelitz on Wednesday night. It seems she was attacked prior to her death since she suffered severe injuries. The police spokeswoman didn't reveal specifics about the injuries initially, stating, "That's killer knowledge. We're not releasing that info just yet."
Authorities have already apprehended a suspect later that evening when suspicion arose against him. According to the spokeswoman, the man is acquainted with the woman but is not connected to her family-wise. The suspect will be presented to the bailiff during the day, and he's been charged with manslaughter.
The discovery of the woman's corpse was an unexpected coincidence. The cops were initially at her apartment due to a stolen bike report from the multifamily building, and that's when they spotted the woman through a window. It appears she'd been deceased for some time, with the incident possibly happening between late afternoon and early evening.
The preliminary investigation of the scene is complete. Next, neighbors and potential witnesses will be questioned.
