Crime - Woman with samurai sword in supermarket
In Greiz in eastern Thuringia, a woman has triggered a police operation because she was shopping in a supermarket with a samurai sword. Customers and sales staff reported to the police when they saw the woman in the supermarket on Saturday evening with the approximately 70-centimeter-long sword, as the police announced on Sunday. The woman told officers that she had received the sword from an acquaintance and wanted to make a spontaneous purchase at the supermarket on her way home. According to the police, carrying a sword in public is against the Weapons Act. The officers confiscated the sword and criminal proceedings were initiated.
