- Woman seriously injured after fire - several cats dead
A 64-year-old woman was severely injured in a fire at a multi-family house in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. She suffered from smoke inhalation. Several cats also died in the fire, as the police reported.
The fire broke out on Monday night for unknown reasons in Pasewalk. Emergency services rescued 11 residents from the old building and 9 from an adjacent house. The police did not initially provide information on the extent of the damage. The police have launched an investigation into suspected negligent arson.
The 64-year-old woman, along with the residents, was housed in the multi-family house, which primarily accommodates Women and families. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, some vulnerable beings, including several cats, unfortunately perished in the fire.
