Accidents - Woman runs after a loose dog and is hit by a car
A woman in Neustrelitz (Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district) was hit by a car and seriously injured while trying to catch her dog, which had got loose. The 59-year-old was walking her dog on a pedestrian path near the train station on Saturday morning, according to the police. The four-legged friend suddenly escaped and crossed the entrance to a supermarket. The woman rushed after it and suddenly stepped onto the road. A 42-year-old driver was unable to avoid a collision. The woman suffered serious injuries to her head and shoulder and was taken to hospital. The dog remained unharmed and apparently ran home alone. Police officers found him there.
