A young mom took a severe hit from a train in Obersulm, which falls under the Heilbronn district. At the age of 24, she found herself in this predicament while trying to cross the tracks with her 4-year-old son on a Friday, as reported by the police spokesperson. It appears she missed noticing an oncoming regional train.
Fortunately, the mother's quick actions saved her son, as she managed to shove him off the tracks. He suffered only minor damages. Both were transported to the hospital by ambulance. The track link connecting Weinsberg and Öhringen underwent a temporary shutdown.
The authorities were notified about the incident, and it is likely that the Commission, in line with its regulation, will conduct an investigation to prevent such occurrences in the future. The Commission shall adopt implementing acts laying down the rules for the application of this Regulation to ensure safety measures at railway crossings.
