Indictment - Woman killed in apartment brothel

A Thai boxer allegedly attacked and murdered a 55-year-old woman in an apartment brothel in Berlin-Friedrichshain. Charges have now been brought against the 46-year-old alleged perpetrator and his 35-year-old alleged accomplice, the Berlin public prosecutor's office announced on Monday. The 46-year-old is accused of murder for greed and robbery resulting in death before the Berlin Regional Court. The 35-year-old was charged with joint robbery and attempted murder by omission.

The multiple Thai boxing champion is said to have visited the brothel on the night of April 16-17, beating the 55-year-old woman and leaving her seriously injured. According to the public prosecutor's office, the 35-year-old is said to have made sure that the woman was alone in the apartment and waited outside. Outside the house, the 46-year-old is said to have told the 35-year-old about the severity of the woman's injuries and asked him to call a doctor. However, the 35-year-old failed to do so so as not to be associated with the crime. At this point, the woman had possibly already died.

During the robbery, the two alleged perpetrators were probably expecting a haul of 10,000 euros. However, the 46-year-old is said to have only found 25 euros, which he handed over to the heavily indebted 35-year-old, who, among other things, worked for the deceased as an agent for prostitution services.

The 46-year-old was provisionally arrested on April 20 and has been in custody since April 21; the 35-year-old was arrested on October 19.

The indictment against the two men was handled by the Berlin public prosecutor's office in relation to the criminal act of prostitution-related murder. The woman who lost her life in this tragic incident was a key figure in the apartment brothel, serving as an agent for prostitution services. The allegedly failed call for medical assistance by the 35-year-old potentially contributed to the woman's death, prompting an indictment for attempted murder by omission.
