Crime - Woman killed? Arrest warrants issued for landlord couple

After the discovery of a woman's body in Lauterbach (Vogelsbergkreis), arrest warrants have been issued against the two suspects. They were presented to a magistrate in the afternoon, according to a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office. The couple, a 58-year-old man and his 43-year-old live-in partner, are the landlords of the property where investigators found the body of the 55-year-old woman on a Wednesday, according to police and the prosecutor's office. The two were arrested and denied the accusation.

A police patrol had already been called to the property on a Sunday evening due to a dispute between the landlords and a former tenant, according to a statement. This tenant told the police that a mentally challenged woman had lived in the house until the beginning of the year. There had been physical assaults against her. Suddenly, the 55-year-old woman had disappeared. Witnesses were then interviewed and the house was searched on a Wednesday. A special operations team was also involved.

The investigators found extensive evidence at the property, according to police and the prosecutor's office. The body of the woman was taken to the Institute for Legal Medicine in Gießen. No statements were made by the police and the prosecutor's office about the cause of death and the background of the crime - according to a statement for tactical investigation reasons.

The arrest warrants for the suspects were issued by the public prosecutor's office in Hesse. The police in Lauterbach (Vogelsberg district) were involved in the process of serving these warrants.
